We all have the right to learn, play and be happy. Today the children in Foundation stage and KS1 made and painted bunting ready for a special VE Day celebration tomorrow. We also had a go at writing some adventure stories today.

VE day
We have been celebrating VE day this week by making bunting and cooking pancakes. We are learning what food was like during war time and what is was like to cook when there weren’t many ingredients available. We all have fhe right to a safe and happy environment, to be able to go to school and have an education and to be able to have access to food and water. We are realising how lucky we are to have these things without the fear of war. Thank you to those who fought for our rights.

Keeping ourselves fit
Reece and Carly have been teaching everyone how to skip today. Its a great way of keeping your heart healthy!

Worry monsters
We all have the right to feel what ever we want to feel and to be ourselves. We also have the right to be looked after and for adults to help us with our emotional needs. We love this worry monster Millie and her dad have made to help with this. Whenever you have a worry you can feed it to the worry monster and he will eat it all!
Perhaps you could have a go at making one of these too if you are feeling worried about anything.

Practicing spellings isn’t always the most exciting task but Lucia has found a way to make it more exciting.

Last week our learning grids went live so that we could continue to keep learning going and interact with our classes. The work that has been sent in so far has been amazing and we are really proud of the effort children have been putting in. Here are some examples of some research and some creative that has been done.

Right of the week
Now, more than ever, we think it’s important that children continue to understand their rights and how they are protected in our world. We are therefore posting activities based around a different right each week. You will be able to find them in your Google classroom. Feel free to dip in and out as you please but do please share anything you do with us as we would love to see what you come up with 🙂

We did some descriptive writing with the children in school today. They had a go at describing a particular part of their local area using adverbial phrases.
