People who help us – Police Visit

This week we have been welcoming visitors into Reception to help the children with their learning about People Who Help Us. The children learnt about people who work in our community and how everyone has a responsibility to help others.

The police officers helped teach the children about staying safe and how police help to protect them from harm as safe and trusted adults.

During their visit the police officers allowed the children to ask questions, share ideas and talk about their experiences encouraging respect for children’s views.

The children also got the opportunity to listen to the siren and watch the flashing lights, learning about how society works and what we have to do if we see the blue flashing lights when we’re travelling inthe car to help the police.

Children’s Mental Health Week

Today, children from Year 4, and across the whole school, joined a live workout led by Joe Wicks. This was part of Children’s Mental Health Week and Joe encouraged us to exercise to keep our minds and bodies healthy. We thought carefully about Article 24 which guarantees every child the right to the highest attainable standard of health. It was great fun following and joining in with the exercises he showed us and we enjoyed asking questions and listening to Joe share information about exercise and good health.
