Last week, Year 4 explored the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), reminding themselves of some of the important articles that ensure every child has rights.
We looked at a range of pictures and discussed whether the situations shown were fair or unfair. We thought carefully about examples of children being listened to and others whose voices were not being heard.
Finally, we reflected on our own responsibilities and how we can help make sure that everyone’s rights are respected. We discussed the importance of being kind, listening to others, standing up for what is fair and taking action to help others access their rights.
We had some thoughtful discussions and showed a great understanding that with rights come responsibilities and that we all have a part to play in making sure everyone is treated fairly.
Here are some examples of our ideas but there were many, many more! Well done Year 4!
