Article 9: You have the right to live with a family that cares for you.

This week within our class worship we shared the story of ‘Can’t you sleep Little Bear?’. We thought about how the Daddy Bear was caring for the Liitle Bear when he was feeling scared and couldn’t sleep.

We reflected on our own bedtimes and how our families help us to feel safe and nurtured when we are going to sleep. Some of us like having nightlights, some of us don’t. Some have the door open and some have it closed. We realise that we are all different and all have the right to feel safe and be cared for.

Duty bearers

This term our right of the term is Article 1- the right to know and access our rights including making sure all adults can teach us about them. We are refreshing our knowledge of rights and making sure everyone knows about them!

In Year 3 we talked about who our duty bearers are- adults who are responsible for making sure we access our rights on a daily basis. We made cards to thank them for everything they do to help us and look out for us. We will be delivering them around school over the coming week 😀

Planning

Today we planned what we are going to do for the next few weeks and it is based around respecting people in need. We are going to be doing Christian Aid week, teaching our own lessons to other classes and fundraising for our own charity choices. Look out for our work on here and Facebook!

Year 2: Earth Day!

Year 2 have been celebrating Earth Day today, and we are all wearing green and blue! We have discussed the importance of protecting and caring for our planet and we linked this in with Article 29 – learning to live peacefully, protecting the environment and respecting other people.
