In guided reading this week, Year Six read the poem ‘The Undefeated’ by Kwame Alexander. The book has fantastic illustrations depicting famous people of colour who have shown resilience, perseverance and courage when faced with adversity. Their talents, beliefs and practices were all challenged at some point but they showed the world that they wouldn’t back down and their work should be respected and acknowledged. We linked these ideas with articles 12 and 30. 

In PSHE this week, we also focused on article 2 centred around our identities. We learnt a song about individuality and celebrating similarities and differences.
