Tree planting

Article 12: We have the right to have our say in things that affect us.

Article 27: We have the right to live and grow in good conditions.

Today we had some trees arrive as a donation from New Wood Ltd in Stoke Gifford. We have Silver Birch, Crabapple and Field Maple to plant. The donation was very kindly made thanks to a letter written by our Rights Ambassadors asking for help to recognise and promote the effects of climate change. We will be planting them as classes next week!

Safer Internet Day

This week we have had safer internet day. Year 2 have been thinking hard about article of the month: Article 17- Our right to be told things that are true by the internet, TV, the news and newspapers. We have also talked about how to stay safe online in today’s assembly with Mrs Arnold.

Article 17- Right of the month

This month our Right of The Month is Article 17. Article 17 of the UNCRC says children and young people should be able to access information, particularly from the media. They should be able to get information from many places— from their country and beyond.

We have chosen this article to link with Safer Internet day which we are celebrating today.

You will see on your Google Classrooms there is a link to an assembly all about this. Here is the link if you haven’t been able to access this:

To kick off mental health week in Year Four we have been having brain breaks in our lessons and this afternoon we are drawing our emotions. We are using colour and pictures so show how we are feeling in our bodies.
